rhp's proposals for the University of Cambridge’s North West Cambridge Development will provide contemporary accommodation for up to 325 post-graduate students.
Inspired by traditional Cambridge collegiate architecture, our design arranges the accommodation around three open-sided courts, each individual in character, and in three to five storey buildings that will define strong street frontages in line with site masterplan guidance.
Our scheme responds to the need for growth of the University’s post-graduate population and will form a new community, similar in scale to the central College sites.
The proposals incorporate a number of low energy aspects, targeting the BREEAM Excellent standard, and include high levels of cycle parking to encourage students and others to travel sustainably, through carefully designed landscaping and pathways that will nurture a strong sense of connectivity.
Scheme completed in March 2017.
