Experience of working with masterplans created by others
Just a few examples of our extensive experience are given below, but others can be provided on request.
Faculty and Student Accommodation, University of Warwick
rhp has many years’ experience working with the University; designing their Departments of Mathematics & Statistics and Computer Sciences. We recently completed the initial phases of their significant expansion in residential accommodation. The proposals were designed in conjunction with Hemingway Design, whose ideas embrace the whole gamut of student experience, as well as more conventional master-planning issues.
Clinical Research Centre, University of Cambridge
The design of this new Clinical Research Centre involved working with the 2010 Masterplan for Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Engagement was required with the Hospital Trust, with leaseholders for two neighbouring buildings, with designers for the new High Street, and also with the designers for a private hospital to be built opposite. The Planning Authority took a close interest in coordination with the Masterplan and our proposals were subject to review by their Design Quality Panel prior to approval being given.
Post-Graduate Housing, University of Cambridge
The design of this new urban block involved working within the North West Cambridge Masterplan. As well as the physical form and infrastructure, the Masterplan informed selection of materials and environmental performance. Close engagement with both user groups and neighbouring developments was required for all work stages.
Wrest Park, English Heritage
We have worked within a Conservation Masterplan over many years to revitalise this unique parkland and the historic buildings within it. As well as working on the conservation of many of the Grade I listed structures and buildings, we have designed new facilities to dramatically improve access, alongside new dining, interpretation and retail spaces.
