Sportspark UEA Awarded Best Sports Venue

Sportspark UEA is based at the University of East Anglia (UEA), but it's £17.6m facilities are open to the whole community. Designed by rhp, the centre opened in 2000 and was funded primarily by The Lottery and Sport England receiving one of the largest Lottery Sports grants ever awarded to a community project. Sportspark has become one of the most successful community sporting facilities in the UK and boasts flexible indoor and outdoor sporting facilities suitable for all ages and abilities.

The Olympic sized pool contains a moving floor which can be positioned to create two 25m pools. The twelve court sports hall has removable rebound panels and nets enhancing the flexibility of the space. The centre also offers a 15m high climbing wall, martial arts and aerobics rooms, a fitness suite and dedicated coaching, physiotherapy and sports science spaces.

Sportspark was awarded 'Best Sports Venue or Provider' in the recent Primary Times Reader Star Awards 2015, after Primary Times’ readers voted for their favourite local family friendly places.
