Ray has played a pivotal role in the evolution of rhp from a small practice in its early years, to its present day position, with a team of over 60 and comfortably placed within the BD top 100 of UK architectural firms. With experience gained from an exceptional period of more than 35 years with rhp, and over 25 years as a director of the practice, Ray has a sound understanding of funding and resourcing issues, programming and procurement strategies and best practice design.
He has strong input to concept and design development work, and maintains a very ‘hands on’ approach.
He is particularly keen to encourage full involvement of client and user groups to achieve appropriate best value solutions, and uses his project management skills to the benefit of the team and project delivery.
Ray has been active in the workplace and education sectors since the mid-1980s, with key input into the development of the St. John’s Innovation Park; innovation centres; science departments and faculty Buildings for the Universities of Cambridge and Warwick and Anglia Ruskin University. More recently Ray led the design and delivery of the major transformation project for Kier Group’s national office Headquarters in Bedfordshire.
